I don't understand imposing your values on everyone else. Everyone else has to wait for the christian rites? Crazy. This means that Alcohol sales at restaurants starting at 10AM. I am talking about the 'Brunch Bill.'
"Surely, we can wait to start serving drinks until after the preacher has said the benediction."
If we're in Church... Sure.
But there's no preacher at my brunch though, so I'm not sure why that's a concern.
Your average churchgoing crowd isn't going to stop going to church just because you can order drinks in restaurants. If you think an extra 2 hours of booze is going to lose your congregation, you're just a shitty preacher who needs to work harder.
But Rev. Mark Creech, executive director of the Christian Action League, urged senators to defeat the measure, saying it poses a danger to public health and undermines the state's control system for liquor.
Calling the Sunday sales provision "sensitive to business interests but insensitive to churches," Creech argued, "Surely, we can wait to start serving drinks until after the preacher has said the benediction."
Separation of church and state please. 10am is nice but the whole restriction needs to be lifted because it's completely unconstitutional.
